Open Composition

A composition of loosely suspended elements is known as Open Composition and soon it began to gain popularity in a designing sector. 

Richer background and patterns


Compared to the previous years, there are increasingly more backgrounds and patterns used in the web designs. Elements such as small dashes, stripes and dots are also gaining popularity. The common grid pattern which is generally treated as the “frame” for the other elements of the layout. These elements are then further moved over to the grid on the parallax principle & are often arranged in a chaotic manner. 

Decorative Details


Another thing that has changed recently is the designer's approach to the minor details. There's been a gradual departure from the minimalistic to bigger & highly detailed web designs. The flying geometric figures and fragments have now become a common part of the web layout. Furthermore, the Buttons are less frequently created as harsh rectangles with texts inserted in the middle. They are often designed as soft and shifted dashes. 

Rich typography

There's also been a change in the typography as well. The entire Internet was dominated by simple neo-grotesque styles, such as Open Sans, Lato, Helvetica, Roboto have become the commonly used text styles. The Serif typefaces are not used very often.
